Health

  • Help constituent Carolyn Cross further develop her staphylococcus aureous 50% bacterial infection reduction protocol
  • Support new addiction recovery home on the North Shore: Turning Point Recovery Society
  • Continue to advocate for HIV Centre of Excellence at Providence Health Care
  • Continue to advocate for the Brain Health Centre at UBC
  • Support the HOpe Centre, new facility on North Shore providing much-needed  mental health services as well as classroom space for UBC medical students and an indoor home for North Shore BC Ambulance Service

Financial/ Economy

  • Bring attention to the very high taxpayer risk exposure entailed in unlimited provincial guarantee offered to certain financial institutions
  • Consult with engineers, accountants and UBCM regarding further reforms to Civil Liability of individuals and municipalities
  • Critically analyze, and make recommendations concerning BC’s rapidly increasing energy costs

Environment

  • Support Friends of Cypress Provincial Park in their conservation efforts
  • Assist the Spearhead Hut Project, involving backcountry travel in the alpine and glaciers in Whistler
  • Promote WV Streamkeepers in protecting our streams through education, monitoring and rehabilitation
  • Pursue the Steelhead Summit, Phase Two

Infrastructure

  • Replace Lions Gate Waste Water Treatment Plant adjacent to Ambleside Beach
  • Develop alternative routes to reduce traffic jams at Taylor Way and Marine Drive
  • Work with Mayors’ Council head on Translink public transit funding issues

Education

  • Support Capilano University, including participating in discussions about student housing
  • Assist Brittania Mining Museum in developing children’s educational and cultural exposure to resource industries
  • Encourage trades training on the North Shore
